Dear RHS Families:
Each year during the month of April, Romulus High School runs special schedules during State of Michigan Mandated Testing for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students. This year these exams will take place on April 9th, 10th , and 11th.
During testing, focus and attention to detail are highly encouraged. Therefore it is extremely important that students arrive on time for testing. Students will NOT be allowed to enter any testing area after 8:00am. Also, students MAY NOT bring backpacks on testing days. The required exams consist of a series of tests for the following groups:
- Juniors: The college readiness exam known as the SAT Plus Writing, WorkKeys, and M-STEP will be administered. The SAT score report can be used to apply for acceptance into colleges or universities and determines scholarship eligibility.
- Sophomores: PSAT 10
- Freshmen: PSAT 9
Monday, 4/08/19: All students report to school for a regular school day, 7:00am-2:04pm
Tuesday, 4/09/19: All Sophomores and Juniors will be the only students in attendance (9th and 12th grades do not report). Sophomores and Juniors will report to school at the regular school start time. Buses will transport testing students to school at their regular morning pick up time. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided for testing students. Dismissal will be at the regular time (2:04 pm). Students in 9th and 12th grades are required to complete the attached Field Experience Assignment.
Wednesday, 4/10/19: Only Freshmen and Juniors (along with Sophomores who have been invited) will attend to complete testing. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all students who are testing. Freshmen, Juniors, and invited Sophomores will report to school at the regular school time; buses will transport students at their regular morning pick up time. Dismissal will be at the regular time (2:04pm). Students in 10th and 12th grades are required to complete the attached Field Experience Assignment. Seniors must complete a total of two (2) assignments for the week.
Thursday, 4/11/19: All Students report at the regular time; Juniors and select Sophomores will be testing. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all students. Dismissal will be at the regular time (2:04pm).
Friday, 4/12/19: All students report to school for a regular school day.
In the rare event that a student needs to make-up any portion of these exams, they are required to participate on the makeup dates, April 23-24, 2019. IMPORTANT: Any student who does not complete their exams on these dates in April 2019, as indicated will be required to take the entire assessment over again during the 2019-2020 school year.
